Growin' Up In Jersey

I have been a dog lover since I learned what a dog was. Since a young age I have been obsessed and completely in love with many dogs that belonged to my neighbors. My parents have tons of saved letters I wrote them explaining why I need a dog and what I would do to get a dog. They are pretty cute. However, I never got a pooch of my own, but that is totally okay because I made a business of it instead. The age is unknown, but I know I was around 7, I decided I would dogsit my neighbors' dogs while they went on vacation in the summer. This way, I would get my own dog for a few weeks, and my parents would see how responsible I was and would maybe get me one.

To this day, I still dogsit, and I love it. A specific dog I dogsit quite often, Tammy, a scottish terrier has captured my heart in a way no other dog has. You see, I was in a bad car accident 4 years ago, i didn't want to be driving again, but my loved ones told me if I didn't get back behind the wheel, I wouldn't drive again. So, I drove again, and developed a bad case of anxiety and panic attacks, from my accident. When I would get that anxious feeling while driving, I would think of Tammy and all the nuances I loved about her, her feet that are shaped my a pancake, the fur between her toes, her long tongue which loves to lick every inch of your face, the soft fur on her ears, etc. Eventually, I put a photograph of Tammy in my car, so I could also look own at her and be reminded to keep calm. If it weren't for dogsitting her, I'm not sure I would be able to drive to this day.

So, when I get a bit older, I want to get a scottie, just like Tammy, because she changed my life in the best way possible. She is headstrong, but so loving, sweet and just an amazing little puppy-girl ( of course, she's not a puppy anymore, but she will always be to me!). Are you an animal lover?
