family update....asking for some prayers

Well, it sure has been the never-ending weekend for my family and i this weekend. My parents, aunts and uncle and my grandfathers sister left for the 10.5 hour drive down to North Carolina this afternoon at about 2:30 pm, which means they should be getting there between 12 and 2 am tonight. I am home alone with my brother, tending to the house and taking care of all of the errands my mom needed me to run and taking care of my aunt and uncles home as well since they have 4 cats and a bird. Hopefully, my brother will offer a helpful hand to me and not make me do everything alone in the next 3-4 days alone, but who knows!

we found out on saturday that my grandfather definitely had lung cancer, but then we got updates throughout the day on sunday, where the doctors had to put a tube or something in his chest/lungs to drain the fluids that are constantly building up in his body. Then this afternoon at around 12noon , we got the call that clarified his cancer status. He has stage 4 lung cancer, and on top of that , he has bronchitis and pneumonia, so things are not looking well. I promised my mom i would stay home and take care of everything she needed to get done this week and for her to not worry and to enjoy the time she had left with her father. I really hate being alone in my parents home, i get very creeped out very easily and i hate that feeling. At least when my parents are here, I feel safer, a lot safer. They will be home soon enough though, late wednesday night, or thursday night, isn't toooo far away, right?

I've been trying to stay very strong for my mom and to be positive and helpful for my mom, so ive been keeping busy today, getting things done for her. I felt so sad today when I seen every single one of our neighbors having family picnics and I couldn't because my family is off on their way to North Carolina, it was such a sad feeling and made me tear up a little. I miss my mom already and its only been 8 hours without her. =[

Well, thats enough for the sappy sad family stuff. I hope you all had a great memorial day weekend and look forward to reading about your weekends soon!

*Hugs* I'm sending some good energies your way and hopes that your family will make it through everything ok!

Also, your package was sent on Friday and they said you should be receiving it Tuesday! :) Hope it brings a smile to your face at least!

Hey sweet lady - sorry I've been so MIA lately, I know it's been a stressful time for you.

I'm sorry to hear about the G-Pa, how difficult for your entire family. I am thinking about you guys and praying for his health and peace.

Make sure to take care of yourself now too. I see you've really stepped up to help out the family and make other people's lives easier, but don't do so much that you tax yourself and push yourself to the breaking point. I know family stuff can be draining and difficult in the best situations, but it can be ten times more intense when you're going through something like The G-Pa's illness.

Many hugs sweet book-y friend!
